Shoot Life

After a six-hour transit, I was finally on my way home. I was already fantasising about my bed during the transit, haha! This work trip was great, grew again tremendously over the seven days. It is amazing sometimes how much one person can grow with the right pressure. A couple more months, and we would get our report card. Full steam till then!

Shoot Life

I was on my way back from Hong Kong when I took this photo. The plains below looked so geographical from above.

I went to a gift and premium trade fair in Hong Kong; mainly for crafts and ideas. My first trip to a film market showed me how shallow in knowledge I could be even having been in the industry before. This trip showed me how creativity would always be the winner now and in the future.

New shoots, New life

I wrote about this "ball" of terrarium a couple of months ago, and since then I got really interested in cactus. I heard cactus is a good plant to be placed in the office to counter "小人", hence I potted a small and a big terrarium for the office, hehe! Loosely translated, "小人" refers to those who sabotage and simply enjoying bringing chaos to the world. Probably they are referred as the little people in mandarin because they can be so small that they can simply get under your skin, and irritate you to bits! Or perhaps it is because they do not have a generous heart and altitude towards life?

See the greener tips popping out?

Our office is rather peaceful now, no little people running around, but it is good to just have something green and sturdy enough to pull through a couple of days without water. It kind of give the office some life too.

Frankly, this is a first for me - seeing fresh cactus shoots within such a short period of re potting; I potted them for less than two months. I checked the same batch of cactus that were bought together and placed at home, and there are nothing there. Sis who visited the office the other day said probably the cactus thrives especially well in the office 'cos there was some negative energy around, and the plants are feeding on it, hence helping to get rid of the bad luck at the same time too, haha!

Shoot Life

We are in Taipei, and am still at as I type! The temperature is ranging between 13 to about 18 degree Celsius for the last couple of days, except for the second day morning when it was bright and sunny. Otherwise, it is pretty cloudy with occasional light showers. The photo is, of course, enhanced with effects, but it brings out the right mood of the weather. Cooling, edging to the cooler side, but still not that pushy-cold.

Separate posts on the trip!

Shoot Life

This video was taken a year ago, when the entire family was on the way to a cruise. Number two wanted to play in the train; she was bored. So we played :)  A year later, she has more hair, and still as chubby :)

Shoot Life

I took this when I was walking to a screening after a day at the film market. The temperature was dropping but it was still nice to walk. While it was cold, it was a different type of cold compare to the cold air from an air conditioner. There was a certain crispiness to the air, and the body adapted to it.

I saw the ferris en route to the screening location. For the last couple of screenings, I took the arranged shuttle, but I decided to take a walk that day, and there it was.

The ferris wheel was beautiful, with the rays from the setting sun at the Santa Monica Pier. I took it with my iPhone, and did some filter-editing with Instagram. Not a terrific photo, but I can recall the feeling when I took the shoot - thankful for the chance to be at the film market, and life has its way to tell the need to remain humble at all times.

Shoot Life

Taken this photo of Lucy a couple of months ago when she stayed over for the weekend as Papa Dom needed to work. Or was it travel? She was all good till she decided to squeeze through our gate for her... midnight walk. Our neighbour had lavish setup for wedding the following day, so Lucy could not be left straying around... I had to play catch with her till I managed to grab her and carried her entire full frame back home.

No more freedom after that, she was on an extended leash in the car porch with her water until Papa Dom was back. I still brought her out for her walks and she ate in "free-style" with no leash. As long as I was in the car porch with her, she had nothing to her neck, but I was not going to take risk when she was on her own. Afterall, my arms ached big time the following day after I carried her back...

Still... I love this gal!

Shoot Life

happy lucy

I was back in Singapore beginning of the month, and it had been heck of a crazy couple of weeks. Though crazy, but it is also a step closer to dream coming true.

I wanted to sort out the photos and to put up entries, but the excuse is already thousand-year old. I was either busy or when I had the time to take a breather, I simply wanted to chill and do nothing.

I skipped class today and came home slightly earlier than planned. As I was sorting out the photos, I saw this photo, and I went “arrr….”

I am missing this crazy, carefree gal.

Shoot Life

This is Marley aka Snow White. She was like a runt when Papa Dom found her flea-infested at the gate of his condo. She is all grown up now, and is extremely good at catching rats and snakes. Marley is still gentle and shy just like when she was a puppy. She is such an apple to love.

Sis got me this Murano glass ring from Venice! I am usually pretty free of accessories except for a watch, but I totally love this ring. It is heavier than the usual rings, feel round and smooth, and there is some seemingly golden flakes within in. It goes well with my casual wear and plays its part well for a night out or dinner. Nothing too fanciful; just me :)

Shoot Life

This is life. Tiny as they are, they survive the sun, the rain and thrive in the beautiful weather. They don't give up when things get tough, they simply adapt and move towards the sun. Sometimes, a tiny seedling is all it takes to demonstrate life.

Shoot Life

Caught this shoot while I was on the flight to the hubby's. I was so close to not being able to board the flight in time because I got the departure time wrong. Phew! Each time I fly, whether back to my origins or to the hubby's, there is always this part of me that get left behind and hope to bring everything and everyone with me...

Shoot Life

I always love supermarkets. And walking through rows and rows of stuff makes me a happy person.
Walking through those rows with hubby makes me a happy wife.

A simple afternoon.
Sipping off from grandpa's spoon.
A gesture that is full of love.

Shoot Life

This is Parkview Square, a very lovely quaint building that is very near Bugis Junction. The central pillar is houses bottles of wine and alcohol. If there is order for a drink that lies up in the tower, the bartender would be on a jumpy rope; bouncing up and down to grab your drink! I first stepped into this building about six, seven years ago to attend a trading seminar and have not return to this building since. I had the good fortune of stepping in and snapping a shoot today when I met a friend for lunch. A lovely building in the concrete jungle!
