Malacca Again!

Malacca is a nice place to visit when we want to get out but do not have the luxury of time. We made the trip together with K & A, who had a blast out of hubby's driving, haha!

K was kind of reluctant to make the trip as he did a 12km (or was it 15km?) run just the morning before we departed for Malacca. But K is one who pays a lot of attention to what the wife likes, so he did the most husbandly-thingy and off we went!

A's cheeky smug :)
Trips as such usually made up of eating and shopping, and this one was no exception. Our first stop was Jonker Street. Since it was the weekend, the night market was just setting up when we reached. Hubby spotted one of his favourite snacks within minutes of hitting Jonker Street...

Ducky's tongue...
Duck tongues... they smelled heavenly, but I simply could not bring myself to eat them... The hawker provided gloves to facilitate the eating, pretty good services :)

There was this beautiful back lane that reminded me of the alley in Amsterdam - double story shophouses with lots of green, and authentic shops around. I never spotted them the last time when we were at Jonker Street. There was this particular shop that was selling stuff needed for a Chinese wedding, interesting!

It was also about this time, we heard from the uncles and aunties, who were relaxing around the shop front, that there was a snatch thief who made victims out of the nearby tourists. The need to be constantly careful and alert...

Heavily photo-boomed...
The last time we went to Malacca, hubby brought me to Calanthe Art Cafe, recommended by a friend of his. We loved the cafe, and so we brought K & A :)

We sat at another section this time round, and the cafe was packed. After ordering, we sat around for about an hour, just chit chatting and drinking. I like the atmosphere, especially with the good company. Nowhere to rush to, it was just about enjoying the company and the drinks. K & A make pretty good travel companions as they are easy when it comes to most things; they make good suggestions and listen well too.

K's carefully assembled outfit :)

After the cafe, we moved on to the Portuguese Settlement, near the beach and about five km from Malacca city. Plenty of food there, but we were pretty full from snacking throughout the day, hence ordered only two dishes to try. As usual, I missed out the food's photo...

It was a long way home after all the eating and walking, but hubby was still the reliable driver who drove all safely to home.
